Tungsten Carbide is a material which is renowned for it’s durability and heat resistance. Used to form a range of tools and instruments, it’s no wonder that we stock high-quality Tungsten Carbide Burrs.
With the ability to cut through many materials, tungsten carbide burrs are ideal for cutting through all types of wood, hard metals including steel, aluminium and cast iron and soft ones such as gold, platinum and silver, along with so much more. Equipping these burrs with pneumatic tools such as our very own FinishLine Die Grinder presents a powerful cutting action which runs true.
Burr shapes work differently and are used for varying applications, for example, Shape A a cylindrical flat headed burr, is perfect for contour finishing and right-angle corners, while a ball-shaped burr such as Shape D is perfect for shaping and hollowing areas. Thirteen tungsten carbide burr shapes offer versatility, which is why all are available from Abcon with a range of diameter, shaft lengths and cuts.
These burrs are well adjusted to cope under extreme conditions and survive longer than HSS (High-Speed Steel) variants. An ultra-high melting point of over 2,785 degrees Celsius means that you can cut hotter for more time as opposed to HSS burrs which soften at higher temperatures.
